Kura Kura Beach Resort – Gili Meno

Gili Meno is one of the world-famous Gili Islands located off the west coast of North Lombok, Indonesia. The islands are approximately 90 minutes by car from the Lombok International Airport and approximately two hours from Bali by
fast boat, direct to Gili Meno.

Kura Kura Resort (KKR) is located in the main harbor of Gili Meno. While the initial reaction may be to envisage a busy port, this is not the case. There is now a new jetty that most of the arriving boats utilize. There are still some public traditional
that arrive in front of the resort approximately 4 times per day

The rooms

KKR has 15 rooms, 3 of which have connecting family rooms. The rooms are well constructed with double walls, and fully air-conditioned with all the modern conveniences. Although most of these are poolside, they are very quiet and do not experience outside noise or sounds from the adjacent rooms.

The swimming pool

Gili Meno gets very hot so in early 2022 we decided to install a shade sail over the pool to cool the water so that our guests can enjoy a refreshing dip after a day in the sun. The swimming pool is 13 meters by 4.5 meters with an infinity edge and Bali green stone tiles.

Spa & Massage Facilities

In front of the pool is a guest area and the resort Spa. Guests associate being on a beautiful tropical island with mind and body relaxation so the spa, beauty treatment, and massages are very popular. In-room treatment is also available.

Restaurant & Bar

During the final months of the pandemic, renovations were undertaken in the bar and restaurant. The upgrade included new ceilings and a retiled floor, relocation of the bar to create a sports lounge, balustrades to create a new dining area, and new light fittings to compliment our fresh new look. The electronic equipment was also upgraded which included a new tv/ karaoke system and new furniture.

Waterfront Dining

KKR also has a waterfront dining area that seems to be the most popular place for patrons to relax. The views are amazing and the cool tropical ocean breeze makes this the best place on the island to enjoy a cocktail.

Mini Market – General Store

KKR has its own Mini Market supplying cold drinks, ice creams, confectionery, general chemist-type products, and alcohol. We have also created an area for the fast boat and public boat ticket sales. This means that anyone leaving the island (unless by private boat) must come to our mini market to purchase a ticket. The mini-market trades extremely well during normal tourism activity.

The Kitchen

The kitchen at KKR is fully equipped and can cater to up to 120 guests at any one time. During the peak holiday season, we also have “all-you-can-eat buffets’ which are extremely popular. The location of the resort is very central and generally attracts a good crowd.

Reception

The reception office is located at the entry area to the rooms and just near the Bar. Our staff are well trained in customer care procedures and also speak very good English.

Backup Generator

Like most of the islands in the area, the electricity supply comes from the mainland, through a sub-station. While the supply is generally quite good, a backup option is a necessity. The resort has a 60kva backup generator that is sufficient to run the resort during these downtimes.

Fresh Water

Our water supply comes from a desalination plant that is owned and operated by Western management. We have a 2000-liter holding tank and have never run out of water. We also have a grey water tank which is used to wash down common areas and water the gardens.

The beauty of Gili Meno

Gili Meno is the perfect place for families and honeymoon couples who are looking for peaceful destinations without rowdy crowds and busy, noisy bars. The main beach is only a 3-minute walk from KKR and is simply sensational. The activities available on the island are enough to keep people busy for several days. They include snorkeling, scuba diving, island hopping, bicycle rides, fishing and exploring the island.
